Privacy & Data Protection
Your data, handled like it matters.
Last updated: June 2026
This notice explains how NairobiSites ("we") collects, uses and protects personal data. We aim to meet the principles of the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and, for visitors in the EU, GDPR-style standards. We are based in Westlands, Nairobi, and are part of the Getaweb network.
What we collect
- Information you send us directly — via WhatsApp, a contact form, email or a call (your name, contact details and what you tell us about your project).
- Basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the site is used (pages visited, device type). We avoid intrusive tracking.
Why we use it
- To reply to you, prepare quotes and deliver work you ask for.
- To improve the website and understand which content is useful.
Where the law requires consent (for example, non-essential cookies), we ask for it, and you can withdraw it as easily as you gave it.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. Essential cookies make the site work; any analytics or preference cookies are only set with your consent. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers (for example, hosting and analytics) acting as data processors under agreement. Some may process data outside Kenya; where they do, we expect appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
Only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires. Enquiry messages are kept while a project is live and for a reasonable period after, then deleted.
Your rights
- Ask what data we hold about you, and request a copy.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw consent or object to certain uses.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya.
Contact
To exercise any of these, message us on WhatsApp or email info@nairobisites.com. We aim to respond within a few working days.
